An 18-year-old Niagara Falls man has been charged with drug trafficking after police searched a residence near Kalar and Coventry roads on Oct. 7, according to Niagara Regional Police.
The arrest followed an investigation into controlled-substance trafficking in Niagara Falls, focused mainly on the Main Street and Ferry Street area.
Detectives from the 2 District Street Crime Unit, which covers Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake, conducted the investigation during September and October 2026.
Police said investigators identified a suspect and obtained judicial authorization to search the residence. The Emergency Task Unit assisted officers in carrying out the search warrant.
Rayono “JJ” Currie, 18, of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged. The police release did not identify the items seized during the search or provide a detailed list of the offences.
Police reported that Currie remained in custody and was scheduled for a bail hearing on Oct. 7 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
