Port Colborne's Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival is returning this summer with a Canadian-heavy concert lineup, including Big Wreck and The Strumbellas as headliners.
City officials announced the musical acts for the free festival on Thursday morning, according to Niagara Daily News.
Friday night's concert at HH Knoll Park will feature performances by Bleeker, JJ Wilde and Big Wreck, while Saturday night's show will be headlined by The Strumbellas, with sets from Street Pharmacy and Bedouin Soundclash.
The concerts are part of the 48th edition of Canal Days, one of the most anticipated events on Niagara's summer calendar. The festival runs from July 31 to Aug. 3.
A festival that grew from the museum
Canal Days began at the Port Colborne Museum and has since expanded across the city's downtown core.
Mayor Bill Steele told Niagara Daily News there is something for everyone at the festival, even for those who don't plan on attending the concerts.
Steele also credited the volunteers behind the event, saying it is important to remember that none of the festival would be possible without a dedicated team of volunteers.
