Voting is already underway in Grimsby. The Town launched online voting on Monday, October 5 at 12 p.m., giving eligible voters a chance to cast their ballot well before election day on Monday, October 26.
The Town of Grimsby said Voter Information Letters were mailed to eligible voters, who should have received them no later than October 1. Anyone who did not receive a letter is asked to call 905-945-9634 ext. 2003.
Online voting is available to all voters who received a Voter Information Letter, according to the Town of Grimsby.
Residents who prefer to vote in person before election day have two advance poll opportunities at the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre: Wednesday, October 14 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On election day, Monday, October 26, polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters must go to the designated poll location for the ward where their property is located.
Identification requirements
Identification is required to vote. The Town is asking residents who vote in person to bring their Voter Information Letter along with identification showing their name and qualifying address.
If one piece of identification does not show both name and address, voters may need to present two pieces of ID. The Town asks that voters bring an original or certified or notarized copy of an acceptable document. A complete list of acceptable identification is available on the Government of Ontario's website.
The Town noted that a Canadian passport or health card on its own is not acceptable identification for municipal and school board elections, because neither document contains an address.
The vote is part of the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections. More information, including the Town's election page and online voting portal, is available on the Town of Grimsby's website.
The Town is also encouraging residents to subscribe to its news alerts to stay informed about municipal activities, programs and operations.
