Welland residents planning a trip to City Hall or an arena on Thanksgiving Monday should note that most city facilities will be closed Oct. 12, according to a City of Welland news release.
All City Hall departments will be shut for the holiday, reopening Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 8:30 a.m. The Municipal Service Centre will also be closed Monday.
What stays open
Not every recreation facility is taking the day off. Empire Sportsplex and Rec Rentals @ the Docks will both be open on Oct. 12.
The Welland Community Centre, LIV Communities Arena and Jack Ballantyne Memorial Youth Arena will be closed, with regular hours resuming Tuesday.
Paying bills and tickets while City Hall is closed
Residents can still pay bills through their financial institution, online, or by cheque deposited in the drop box at the front entrance of City Hall at 60 East Main Street, closest to Cross Street.
Parking tickets can be paid online with Visa or Mastercard through the City's online payment service. The City asks residents to allow two business days for a ticket to be processed and added to the system.
