A 26-year-old Canadian soccer player has finished a journey from Toronto to Niagara Falls, juggling a soccer ball every step of the way.
Ronnie Bodik set out from the CN Tower on June 3 with the goal of keeping the ball off the ground all the way to the Horseshoe Falls, Niagara Daily News reported. The trek was timed ahead of the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Months of training after double knee surgery
Bodik underwent double knee surgery last year, and the journey came only after months of training to prepare for the physical demand of the attempt.
He found the challenge tougher than he had expected, but told Niagara Daily News he refused to give up — a message he hopes carries beyond his own journey to anyone following along.
For residents of Niagara Falls and the surrounding area, his arrival marked the end of a multi-day effort that drew attention along the entire route.
Supporters along the route
Along the way, Bodik was regularly approached by children, families and curious bystanders who stopped to ask what he was doing, and many stayed to cheer him on.
The combination of a skill like juggling, a recognizable Canadian landmark start and a finish at one of the country's best-known attractions made the trip a moving spectacle for those who encountered it.
The run-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup has put soccer in the spotlight across Canada, and Bodik's journey to the Horseshoe Falls brought some of that excitement directly to Niagara's doorstep.
